travel around the world…
First of all, I was surprised with the size. Then, I was surprised with the country of sender 😀
Why? Polska, especially Warsawa, always reminds me to “our” (my and my
best friend forever) dream about 2 years ago to visit the country for imagine cup 😀
Anyway, thanks, Pola in Polska
*what a unique coincidence between the name and the country of sender, like Podolski and his hometown (place of birth) 😀
As Pola said that the Palace of Culture and Science (known as Collegium Civitas
*from google maps) in Warsaw is the tallest building in Poland. It’s also the eight tallest building in the European Union and currently is the 187th tallest building in the world (amazing! :D).
The building was originally known as the Joseph Stalin Palace of Culture and Science (Pałac Kultury i Nauki imienia Józefa Stalina), but in the wake of destalinization the dedication to Stalin was revoked, Stalin’s name was removed from the interior lobby and one of the building’s sculptures.
FYI, the construction started on 1952 (May, 2nd) and completed on 1955 (July, 22nd). It has height 188 m (roof) and 237 m (antenna spire) with 42 floor. It was designed by a Soviet architect, Lev Rudnev.
One of landmark that must be visited (someday), insya Allah 🙂
